Can you describe your business in one or two sentences?
“We do renovations, additions, alterations, build new homes, fix structural issues, build decks, convert basements into usable space and provide clients with likely cost of their project early in the process, before spending money on Architect, Engineer, Council and finding they can't afford to do their project. We wrap our arms around the entire project. From Ideas to Keys without Fuss, Drama and Confusion.”
What drove you to start your business/get involved in this industry?
“We used to buy, renovate and sell properties and were frustrated with how the construction industry treated people, never met their commitments and how the industry had a bad reputation.”
What do you love about running your business?
“The family has been involved in the industry since the 1800s so thought why not. It has always been an area of interest, and we were frustrated having experienced the service you got when we used to buy, renovate and sell properties.”
What have been some of your biggest challenges?
“The economy and govt changes over the last 6 years; people are sitting on their hands and not spending.”
What is your biggest ambition?
“Be the go to Building company in Wellington.”
What does success look like to you?
“Turning clients' dreams into a reality.”
If you had to walk away from the company tomorrow, what would you be most proud of?
“All the transformations we have done to improve people's lives.”
Who inspires you and why?
“All women who create success and break the glass ceiling and shine out their skills and achievements and embrace themselves and show the world what women can do.”
What growth have you experienced being in NZ Businesswomen?
“A lot: confidence, public speaking, putting yourself out there, talking to strangers etc.”
What's your favourite pastime when you are not working?
“Dining, wining, movies, gardening, reading, singing.”
