I help business owners stop working in their business like an employee and start running it like a boss.
The problem I solve
Most of my clients didn't set out to build a business, it grew up around their skill. They got good at the work, brought people on to help, and woke up one day running a business without ever choosing to become a business owner. I help them close that gap, taking clear, confident action until it stops feeling like a stretch and starts feeling like them.
My point of difference
Most coaches learned coaching. I learned business by running one, 20+ years in senior operational leadership before I ever picked up a coaching qualification. I bring real operational experience to the table, not just theory, so the advice is practical, not textbook.
About
Stones Throw Coaching is a business and strategy coaching practice based in Hastings, Hawke's Bay. I work with "accidental business owners", people whose businesses grew up around their skill rather than a deliberate plan. They got good at the work, brought on people to help, and found themselves running a business without ever choosing to become a business owner. My job is to help them close that gap. Through 1:1 coaching, structured programmes, and facilitated conversations, I help clients build the confidence, systems, and leadership capability to run their business like they mean it, without burning out or second-guessing every decision along the way. I bring 20+ years of senior operational leadership experience to the coaching relationship, so the guidance is grounded in what actually works when you're the one accountable for the outcome, not just theory.
Products and services
Clarity Call (free, 30 min) — A no-pitch, diagnostic conversation to check fit and map out the right path forward. 1:1 Business Coaching — Tiered packages (3, 6, or 12 months) for owners who need consistent, gentle accountability to act on what they already know they need to do. Monthly sessions, built around your business, not a generic curriculum. The Productivity Lab — A 12 week programme built on my Boss Mode/Worker Mode framework, for small business owners and sole traders with plenty of ideas but poor traction. Helps you stop reacting to your day and start driving it.
Why I am a member
joined NZBW in September 2022, after a career change into coaching from a corporate role in a male-dominated industry. I'd been carrying a story about myself - that I didn't get along with other women - and I wanted to test it. I tested it. It was false. Not only do I get along with women, I thrive among them. Nearly four years on, I've stayed for the client referrals, the business support, and the genuine friendships I've built with other members. I love connecting with women, supporting them, and learning to let myself be supported in return.
