Natural Pain Soluions
I've learnt by experience have to successfully treat chronic or ongoing pain. I also have postgraduate study in pain management from Otago University - so I understand the pros and cons of the medical model most people experience. I've also trained with Howard Schubiner author of 'Unlearn your Pain' completing his Freedom from Chronic Pain course in 2024.
My Strange Ambition. It may seem a strange ambition to stop pain. No, I'm not talking about stopping people falling over and breaking a bone. I’m talking about persistent pain after our injuries are healed, for months, even years. Or just waking up one morning with chronic pain. Many people in New Zealand are told we have to live with the pain because there are no solutions. I completely disagree. As for many pain conditions I've spent 20 years helping people reduce or even completely eliminate their pain. o It's not simple, o it's not easy, o it's not just taking a pill that stops pain. My methods can be better than: - o Continually searching for answers, o having injections, o thinking something's wrong, o being told that nothing can help. I am trained in neuroplastic techniques - brain which is the neuro part, and plastic (like playdough). This means we have the option to change our thoughts, feelings, emotions, and our reactions.
The new neurological concepts of neuroplasticity, the brain's ability to rewire itself as clients can safely revisit past life events, to process the stress and emotions around that time of their lives. (This is not talk therapy) What is now a better understanding for clients to explore their emotions and possible reasons behind them is now recognised and proven to be an effective and powerful treatment for persistent pain and other chronic conditions that respond poorly, if at all, to standard medical treatments. SERVICES My drive is now to help spread the neuroplastic message of recovery. o By easy to access online programs. o By working with health professionals to bring basic understanding of neuroplasticity to their practice. o To spread the message that brain and emotions matter for many non-acute conditions. New neuroplastic ideas are changing the way that chronic pain and other chronic conditions are treated for those: - • Unable to get a diagnosis. • Told there's nothing wrong. • There is no cure for their ongoing symptoms. • Have conditions that no longer respond to treatment. • They have been told that they have to live with their chronic pain. As I work from home as a solo entrepreneur I wanted to join a group of women who I could talk business with on a regular basis. Also fairly new to Christchurch so a great way to meet new people.
For those taking my Pain Program I will give them an extra consult at their chosen time through the course.
Jean was instrumental in getting my central nervous system to a state of calm I hadn't experienced in years. I was living with chronic pain, over four years I had been to every specialist doctor in search of a diagnosis, done every physiotherapy exercise prescribed to me and the pain was only getting more debilitating. She talked me through how to release emotional blockages so I could move forward from events which I sometimes hadn't thought about in years, but it was clear that my nervous system remembered. I began to have days without pain and over time was able to pinpoint what triggered the pain and what helped to calm it. Fiona I went to Jean because of severe migraines. I walked out of my first session with Jean with such weight off my shoulders from emotional baggage I had been carrying around for decades. I couldn't believe. Over time my stress levels have reduced, my overall health and wellbeing has improved and my migraines have significantly in severity. Gail
I have completed and loaded my Chronic Pain Support Program onto my website. As a member of the Australasian Lifestyle Medicine Association I have also loaded my profile and my pain program onto the platform Health Hunter for people in Australia and New Zealand
