Provention
I challenge the status quo and don't give up if I believe there's a genuine solution. For years there's been a narrative that "manual handling training doesn't work." I refused to believe we can't teach willing adults an effective physical skill in the workplace. We do it in sport, dance, learning an instrument, driving a car, riding a bike. Our programmes make people Physically Intelligent, so they move effectively and don't get injured. They're built on the movement habits of the uninjured worker, principles from sporting excellence, physical learning strategies and the science of habit formation, and with those foundations, our programmes most consistently reduce manual handling injuries by 60% plus across many industry sectors.
Provention helps NZ businesses reduce manual handling-related injuries through our First Move programme. Most of our clients achieve injury reductions of 60% plus, with our national team of physiotherapy- and occupational therapy-trained trainers delivering our programmes. We work with businesses of 100 plus employees whose workforce faces manual handling risk. Current clients include: Farmers Trading Company, Delegat, NZ Safety Blackwoods, Higgins, NZ Sugar
