As the Managing Director of Food Compliance NZ (FCNZ), I lead an ISO/IEC 17020-accredited inspection and verification agency dedicated to integrity, transparency, and excellence in food safety compliance. At FCNZ, we deliver impartial, independent services that help food operators across New Zealand understand and meet their regulatory obligations under the Food Act 2014. More than a verification body, we see ourselves as educators and collaborators, working alongside councils, other agencies, and independent verifiers to streamline processes, reduce compliance costs, and build consistency across regions. Guided by strong ethical principles and a people-centred approach, we’re redefining compliance as a shared commitment to trust, quality, and sustainable success within New Zealand’s food sector.

At Food Compliance NZ (FCNZ), we provide accredited, independent inspection and verification services across a broad range of food business types operating under the Food Act 2014. We are recognised to verify all risk-based measures (Custom Food Control Plan, My Food Plan, Generic National Programme, MPI approved Template Food Control Plan) and recognised to evaluate customised food control plans and the MPI approved My Food Plan.

Food Compliance NZ (FCNZ) is a newly established verification agency, launched in November 2024. Since our launch, we have transitioned from an employee-based model to a network of independent professional contractors, creating a more agile and regionally connected business structure. Our ISO/IEC 17020 accreditation provides a platform for qualified individuals to be recognised under the FCNZ system, enabling them to build and manage their own client base with full technical, administrative, and compliance support.

My latest business news

FCNZ is expanding its reach across New Zealand, with a growing presence in regions including Upper Hutt, Kāpiti Coast, Wairarapa, Tauranga, Nelson, Blenheim, and Carterton. We are also onboarding multi-site food businesses that were previously registered individually with multiple councils, enabling operators to achieve significant cost savings by centralising their registration through MPI and being verified under FCNZ’s accredited verification system.
