Monique Ballinger, Enlight End of Life

Business overview

I’m an advocate for ‘PEACE OF MIND’ at End of Life.

Hi, I’m Monique Ballinger from ‘Enlight End of Life’, an End of Life Doula, based in Upper Hutt, Wellington.

People find me to be very open, honest, and a great listener, with a high level of intuition and empathy, and apparently, I deliver the best healing hugs.

I have been offering my services to the community for the past 20 years as a Personal Trainer and Mobility Specialist. I support and encourage clients challenged with chronic illness, disabilities and pain, and help terminal clients to live strong and mobile, for as long as they can.

I’ve been a funeral celebrant for the past 5 years, guiding families through the funeral process, discussing options available, then creating a perfect send off for their loved one. I produce Memorial and Legacy videos, for funeral services and for loved ones to treasure in the future, as well as co-creating Living Funerals with clients wishing to celebrate their life with their loved ones before passing.

I enjoy running presentations and small group discussions to educate and encourage people to have conversations about death and dying, as we don’t know what we don’t know! To gain understanding around the importance of ACPs while navigating the forms together, we discuss EPOAs as part of a Will and encourage getting affairs in order sooner rather than later for “Peace of Mind”.

I’m comfortable to sit in silence, to hold space for important conversations or help you and your loved ones to find a path that feels right for you. Together we can physically, spiritually and emotionally create your perfect environment towards the end.

If you would like to have a conversation about the benefits of my services for your ‘Peace of Mind’ let’s connect.

Why I'm in the NZ Businesswomen

I found NZBW, previously Venus for women in 2013, when I started my Vibration Exercise Studio business. The connection with other business owners was essential in growing my business. The support I received through referrals and the group meetings made me feel less alone on my journey. I stopped for a few years and rejoined in 2023 after downsizing my business to a home-based studio without staff. I have since swapped my profession after training as an End of Life Doula.

My point of difference

End of life Doula's are not well known as yet. I guess it's a profession that many are uncomfortable being around or discussing. My point of difference is I'm not afraid to have those conversations! I can be what is required when it's required! I am a woman who wears many hats.
