Can you describe your business in one or two sentences?

I’m a clinical nutritionist and health coach helping women over 40 eat well, feel energised, and take control of their health—without the overwhelm. I focus on practical, real-life strategies around food, movement, sleep, and stress, so you can feel good in your clothes, boost your energy, and build healthy habits that actually last.

What drove you to start your business/get involved in this industry?

I was inspired by the number of women over 40 who felt stuck, tired, and confused about what to eat or how to take care of themselves. I’d been there too—frustrated by changes in my body and unsure where to turn. As I learned more about nutrition and how our needs shift with age, I felt driven to help other women feel better in their bodies, boost their energy, and take back control of their health – without the overwhelm.

What do you love about running your business?

After 20 years in the corporate world, I felt a strong pull to retrain and work in a field I was truly passionate about – one where I could make a real difference in people’s lives. I’d always had a deep interest in health and nutrition, so studying to become a clinical nutritionist felt like a natural next step.  Starting my own private practice was the next logical move – combining my experience with my passion to support others on their health journey.

What have been some of your biggest challenges?

Setting the business up and running it!  I have spent a lot of time setting the foundations and getting the right systems and processes in place.  It has been a steep learning curve but very rewarding.

What is your biggest ambition?

To have a successful health and nutrition business offering a variety of programmes to support peoples health and nutrition journey.

What does success look like to you?

Working in a job I love that enables me to earn an income whilst having a healthy work/life balance.

If you had to walk away from the company tomorrow, what would you be most proud of?

That I actually did it.  Going back to study for 2 years and starting a business in a completely different industry in my forties is something I am really proud of.  It goes to show you it is never too late to change careers.

Who inspires you and why?

My clients!  When they succeed and achieve their goals it is a best.

What growth have you experienced being in New Zealand Businesswomen?

I have had some good referrals but the part that has been most valuable is the support from the group members.  A lot of us are self employed and work on our own so the support they provide, the ideas and knowledge they share has helped me grow.

What’s your favourite pastime when you are not working?

Keeping fit and healthy. I am a regular at our local CrossFit gym and I love getting in the kitchen and creating.
