Can you describe your business in one or two sentences?
We are a business consultancy that focuses on inventory systems and cloud based solutions for managing product workflow. We have our own developers as well as the ability to train and support in a variety of online cloud-based systems.
What drove you to start your business/get involved in this industry?
I’ve been working for Beyond Expectations Ltd as an employee for 10 years. I love my job and role and have learnt alot about businesses and was keen to take on an ownership role next. Fortunately for me my boss is stepping down and selling the business to my colleague and I. It’s a perfect fit as we know the business really well and it’s an exciting opportunity to be a business owner and run a company.
What do you love about running your business?
It was a challenge to learn more about the systems we support and become an export in a slightly niche industry.
What have been some of your biggest challenges?
Balancing the growth of the company with staff and keeping the work coming in.
What is your biggest ambition?
To be the best at what I do and to be reccommended because there’s nobody else better at what we do.
What does success look like to you?
Happy employees that are thriving in their roles. Happy customers that keep recommending us to others. To have really solid systems that do a great job of saving customers lots of time and provide efficiencies so they can succeed in their industries.
If you had to walk away from the company tomorrow, what would you be most proud of?
The relationships I’ve formed and the support we’ve provided to our customers.
Who inspires you and why?
My boss Peter has been a great mentor for me – allowing me to make decisions and grow without stifling anything. Also giving me the confidence to see that you can suceed in this industry.
What growth have you experienced being in New Zealand Businesswomen?
Confidence around the fact that my industry is very male-dominated and that there is a large group of female leaders out there being the best they can be and supporting each other.
What’s your favourite pastime when you are not working?
I’m quite creative so I love doing Art at home, or keeping my brain busy with cryptic crosswords. Otherwise any chance to get outside on a good day with our dogs or the E-Bikes!
I also love spending time with friends and family as much as I can.
